The district “Haga” is a beautiful neighborhood known for its pretty wooden houses, nice little cafés and the 19th century-atmosphere.
You can stroll trough the streets and visit the gorgeous little shops.
Haga is perfect for the combination of shopping and “fika” – the swedish word for having a coffe break.
In this neighbhourhood you can find a lot of well-preserved wooden houses which are built in the “landshövdingehus” style. It means “county governor’s house” translated. Typical for these houses is a ground floor which is made of stone and two wooden floors on top. They were built between 1870 and 1940 and served as homes for the working class.
Today Haga is very popular not only for tourists but also as a residential area. But you can’t find hotels there.
