Jälmåleden is a 35-kilometre hiking trail set in the tranquil natural landscapes of Tranemo Municipality, Västra Götaland. Winding along the serene Jälmån River, the trail invites visitors to discover peaceful forests, wetlands, pastures, and gently rolling hills — making it a varied and rewarding experience for hikers of all levels.

The trail is marked with dark blue signs and features 13 bridges, which allow for flexible hiking routes and day trips. Along the way, you’ll find six rustic wind shelters, each equipped with a fireplace, offering perfect spots for rest, lunch, or even an overnight stay under the stars. The route passes through pastures with grazing animals and areas of soft and uneven terrain, though it is considered fairly easy overall.

The trail is rich in cultural and natural history, with hidden gems and scenic spots waiting to be discovered — especially if you use the official trail map, which highlights points of interest along the way. The most convenient starting points are in the villages of Nittorp and Dalstorp, where free parking is available.
